A few months ago while in Japan I had the good fortune of being given a factory tour of Nitto. It really was a Charlie in the chocolate factory moment. Actually the whole trip in Japan was absolutely amazing, from staying with everyones favorite BMX hero Van Homan to finally getting to meet with the Blue lug and Crumb works crew.

But I digress, this post is about Nitto and  a bit of a tease about some of the new  products Crust has coming out in collaboration with them.  I hope to have some Nitto/Crust bars up on the site for sale in a couple of weeks, all I can tell you now is there will be a drop bar and a townie type bar.

Rack bending.

A beautiful stem in the process.

A René Herse in the office.

A lot of polishing to be done.

The head honcho.

I was told by the Nitto President, that Tom Ritchey came to the factory to teach Nitto how to fillet braze, as at the time they only offered Tig welded products. Apparently this women is one of the people Tom taught how to braze. Pretty cool I think.

What an amazing collaboration, a real accomplishment. Your bars really will live forever. I look forward to bringing some home to the family fleet in due time.
